This project originates from organizations that help developing friendships by analogy with arranged marriages. High-potential people are matched with the underprivileged. Those underprivileged are refugees, people with a psychological or physical disability, people with life-threatening illnesses... The buddies hang out together and eventually become friends. This creates unique life-expanding opportunities for both of them.
In 2020, I registered for a course that would prepare me for my buddyship. A buddy was
assigned to me by the end of December. This arranged friendship became the theme of a
photographic project. I wanted to portray the interactions in a poetic and symbolic, sometimes
even hermetic way.
